The Vacancy
Are you a member of the Methodist Church in Britain (MCB) seeking to use your skills, expertise and gifts in a new way? Do you have a background in property matters that could help the Church make best use of its significant property portfolio? Could you make a significant contribution to an important and hard-working body in the Methodist Church?
We are seeking a new member to join our Resourcing Committee, which plays a vital role in overseeing the funds, property and people of the MCB. The Resourcing Committee reports to the Connexional Council, which is the trustee body of the MCB.
Working collaboratively with other members of the committee, you will bring relevant skills and experience to bear across a wide-ranging set of committee responsibilities. Not only will you have an understanding of operational property matters, you will also bring a strategic mindset to the use of the Church’s property portfolio across the Connexion. As the Church continues to develop its mission, the responsible stewardship of its resources is a vital task.
Expressions of interest are invited from lay and ordained members of the MCB who have a background in Property to complement the skills and background of other members of the Resourcing Committee.
If you would like to speak to someone about this role then please e-mail Alethea Siow at ChairResourcing@methodistchurch.org.uk
You are encouraged to apply if you feel that overall, your skills and experience meet the person specification requirements - your passion for the Church as well as the relevant transferable skills will stand out and set you apart even if your career is still developing.
We are aiming to have a breadth of experience and backgrounds among the members of the Resourcing Committee, and therefore we particularly welcome applications from lay and minority ethnic members of the Church, women, those with disabilities, and those who are still developing their careers.
All applications will be assessed on merit.
Deadline: 11 July 2025
Interviews will be held on: 24 July 2025
N.B. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
